Match the PPE to the task

Stocking one glove or mask for everything either over-protects routine work or leaves people short on the higher-risk jobs. Nitrile gloves are the safe default for everyday resident care and any fluid exposure, and being latex-free takes allergies off the table. Masks are where it splits, since a basic procedure mask is fine for routine work, but respiratory isolation and airborne risk call for a higher-filtration mask a procedure mask can't match.

Isolation gowns go on for contact precautions and any care that risks a splash. Shoe covers matter in the rooms where floor contamination is part of the protocol, and nowhere else. The point is matching the gear to the actual risk, so you're not burning case after case of high-level PPE on low-risk rounds.

Infection control is about consistency. Gloves, gowns, masks, and shoe covers are supplies you go through every day, and having the right ones on hand means your staff or household stays protected without interruption.

For gloves, the choice usually comes down to task and fit. Exam gloves work well for routine care and general use. Surgical gloves offer a tighter fit and higher barrier protection for sterile procedures. Nitrile is a solid default for either, especially if latex allergies are a concern.

Gowns serve different purposes depending on the setting. Isolation gowns are designed for standard precautions during patient contact, while surgical gowns provide a higher level of fluid resistance for procedures. If you're not sure which level your facility needs, we can help you figure that out.

Face masks range from basic procedural coverings to FFP2 respirators, depending on the level of filtration required. Shoe covers round out the essentials and are especially useful in environments where floor contamination is a concern.

We work with nursing homes, hospice providers, and assisted living facilities that need infection control supplies in bulk on a reliable schedule. Buying in case quantities keeps your per-unit costs down and your supply rooms stocked. For individual caregivers managing protection at home, we carry the same products in smaller quantities.
